He was 84. I grew up very far away from my grandfather, and I did not know him well. It is entirely possible that some of you knew him much better than I did. But as the sole wired member of the Ingraham clan, it has fallen to me to issue the news on the Internet. What I do know about my grandfather I learned to late. Only very recently did I discover how much alike we are, how obviously connected by blood and tradition. I know that I once found his name in a book in a library, when I was a child, and that I was endlessly impressed. And I know that he was indeed a kiteflyer and maker of the highest order: to remember him by, I own a spectacular hand-made delta. I don't know much about kites, but I know this one is big, beautiful, and practically flies itself... A memorial kite-fly will be held in Silver City, NM, Tuesday, November 3. I am short on details. For more information, you can phone my father, Bob Ingraham, at 604-962-2094.
