And before you ask, Tomas and I are probably distantly related, although neither of us can verify that for sure. Secondly, because of a snafu with the US Postal Service, ballots to AKA members outside of the USA were returned and had to be remailed. Because of the delay in this remailing, the deadline for international ballots to be received by AKA was delayed. Michael Graves posted a note in rec.kites signifying this. What this means is that the presidency of the AKA is up for grabs. The votes counted as of the beginning of the AKA convention had the race between Richard Dermer and Pete Dolphin to be very tight, 4 votes difference. So, if you are a non-USA member of the AKA you can have an effect on the outcome of this election. Please refer to Michael Graves previous posting for information about casting your vote via FAX. -- Marty Sasaki Harvard University Sasaki Kite Fabrications sasaki@noc.harvard.edu Network Services Division 26 Green Street 617-496-4320 10 Ware Street Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 Cambridge, MA 02138-4002 phone/fax: 617-522-8546 = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Wed, 19 Oct 1994 22:48:32 -1000 From: crowell@teleport.com (Carl Crowell) Message-Id: Organization: Kites By Carl Crowell Subject: Re: AKA election results of interest to non-USA AKA members sasaki@netop3.harvard.edu (Marty Sasaki) writes: >What this means is that the presidency of the AKA is up for grabs. NO, look at the 27th Amendment of the Constitution. It specifically states that only Chicago resident, living or dead, can vote more than once. There are some Supreme Court decisions dealing with: people who used to live in Chicago, people who resided in Chicago but whose remains are else where and people who have good friend who live in Chicago. If you need the cite to these let me know. -- ============================================================================= Opinions not necessarily those of the author ;) _____________________________________________________________________________ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Sat, 22 Oct 1994 23:26:15 -1000 From: crowell@teleport.com (Carl Crowell) Message-Id: Organization: Kites By Carl Crowell Subject: Re: AKA election results of interest to non-USA AKA members (Mauricio Araujo) writes: >Carl Crowell (crowell@teleport.com) wrote: >: I have only voted three times.... can i vote again even if i am not from >: chicago? >NO, look at the 27th Amendment of the Constitution. Surely it is legal for him to vote at least four or five times on my behalf. Aren't there some hardship stipulations that permit additional votes when a legal representative is used to do the actuall voting? As the votes on the FIRST counting are in and there is a premature determination of an alleged victor, what are the proper procedure for the distruction of offending votes that were obviously cast in error? This obviously must be done prior to future recounts.... carl = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Mon, 24 Oct 1994 15:22:37 -1000 From: mauricio@tezcat.com (Mauricio Araujo) Message-Id: <38hmkt$9hi@xochi.tezcat.com> Organization: Tezcat.COM, Chicago Subject: Re: AKA election results of interest to non-USA AKA members Carl Crowell (crowell@teleport.com) wrote: : (Mauricio Araujo) writes: : >Carl Crowell (crowell@teleport.com) wrote: : >: I have only voted three times.... can i vote again even if i am not from : >: chicago?
