Subject: AKA convention awe!


Well, I attended my first AKA convention.  I wish I had the words to
describe what I saw there and the overall experience.  I went alone but
very quickly met up with acquaintances from flying fields I've been to,
and just as quickly met new people and, hopefully, life-long friends.

As for the spectacular array of kites and flyers, well, what can I say?
You had to see it to believe it.  My only wish is that I could've arrived
at the very beginning of the convention (Wednesday).  Obligations made this
impossible, and my short stay of Friday to Sunday wasn't even close enough
to satiate my appetite for convention happenings.

My thanks to all who made this one of the most memorable weekends of
my life -- can't wait for Tulsa!
