Nope, I was referring to the previous (looong) thread about the rev pricing woes (NOT!) I was merely trying to state that a lot of postings contain advertising without being seen as such. I didn't count the "word" 'rev' lately.... >Peter, you've talked about information content. But I wouldnt't MIND if it were nestled into something. >Tavo had it right when he >countered Dodd's message with a huge list of questions about the event -- >an event report should be just that. It was only right if he wanted to know what he was asking for, not if it was intended to be a "countering" message (and I believe in the good intentions of Tavo...). If people object to the contents of a posting I'd rather they mail the author and state so than posting it in a group, if people try to get more information that benefits the whole group, they should post it. >Please don't mistake all this for a vendetta against Dodd Gross. I don't take it as a vendetta, but for the one at the receiving end, some things may be hard to swallow, especially if there was no intention whatsoever to do as implied (or not implied, but received). >I suppose that part of the problem is the lack of competiton for Dodd's >"product." Now thats a true word ! There's NO competition whatsoever. >For instance, it's not uncommon for folks to ask about kites >good for a particular type of flying and to see a response from Marty >suggesting one of his own kites. The difference here is that Marty *also* >suggests other manufacturer's products _and_ notes that he's biased about >his own products. I agree that does make thing clearer, but people do not have to tell me that they are biased about their own products, that's always the case, we're only human (alas?).... >Hmmm. Maybe I'll just shut up now. ;-) Please don't :-) I've seen too many postings with very usefull advice and information coming from you. I just hope that this thread (and others before) do not scare people away from rec.kites. Especially if they are experienced and have a lot they can share with/tell/teach other people about kites. That's the last thing I'll say about this ! Now I'm realy going back to kites ! >Jeff Good winds to you all (And I mean ALL!!)
