You asked about Willie Koch and the "Madonnas". There are several Germans making the spiked bols. I came up with the name "Madonnas" to refer to a matched pair of them being flown side-by-side and rotating towards each other. In Germany, they are called "hedgehogs" or "pickles". I like the name Madonna better... Cascade Kites has an agreement to import Willi's bols to the USA. We had a string of them at the Wildwood convention. BTW, this kind of information is exactly what I was talking about concerning advertising on Rec.Kites. I don't see anything wrong with this post. It has information that we all can share...did we all know they are also called "dedgehogs" or "pickles"? I also did not know that these could be purchased in the States. As far as I know...I'm the only person building simular shapes in the state of Texas. I for one, can accept these type of post's. Another example is like when some of the stores are clearing out some of the stock. Wouldn't we all like to be able to purchase some of our favorite kites/materials at a discount? There are reasons that I feel ad's can have a place here. Just like the ad's in our favorite kite magazines. They give us information... new kites...places to visit...create competition (lower prices)... ect...ect...
