I have a couple of friends who are interested in reading and posting to rec.kites (Ed Reynolds; Masters and Terry Baudoin; Experienced), but neither has direct access to the internet. They do have access to various BBS's and Compuserve or Genie or whatever. One of them has specifically requested a mail dump-type format.... I'm not familiar with this but he says he dumps a complete mail file of a BBS and then reads through everything off-line. Any ideas about getting them access... They both live in Austin, TX. Thanks in advance. Cheers and tight lines, Dean -- Q \ | Dean C. Yeah, I understand. I directed my message to you because I knew you had helped get the gateway installed and you're listed as the electronic opportunities contact in the AKA. I also thought Ron was involved with the mailing list. But I also wanted to get some feedback from others who may not have direct internet access. Sorry if my message implied anything else or came across as inappropriate. >>Any ideas about getting them access... They both live in Austin, TX. >I can help here. I think this will do the trick. Thanks for your help and thanks again for getting the gateway up --- r.k has been much more exciting with all the extra contributors. Cheers and tight lines. Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but I found an online service called Delphi that allows direct internet access, and has local dial in numbers almost everywhere in the country. My primary internet account is on Cleveland freenet, and Delphi allows telneting to remote sites, so I can get on the Cleveland Freenet from here in Tacoma,WA without paying LD charges. They have 2 plans, the one I'm using is 20 hours per month for $20 plus $1.80 each additional hour. This beats the hell out of most other online services, and is even sweeter beacause it has full internet access for only $3 more. I just got on, and so far it's been great. Their info # is (voice) 1-800-544-4005, and you can sign up by modem at the # 1-800-695-4002. Hope this helps. :-) cheers, john P.S. I don't work for Delphi, I'm just glad I found internet access for the summer! -- ******John M.
