Hi All, My friend Raoul Fosset has a modified NSR that makes NO noise (and thus flies much better than the original). the trick is to add another set of standouts at the very end of the spreaders (near the LE) and to add a tensionning line in the trailing edge. If I remember well the second set of standouts are known as flexor (Scorpion). Just for the fun of it : do you think this is a "new" kite or not, in other word may Raoul start and build Silent NSR without trouble with ToTL. I'm kidding Raoul don't intend to do that ! The Flexifoil Flexors (a protected device, but that's another thread...) are significantly different to normal standoffs. They go through a locating loop on the skin, half way along their length and are bent into a curve in use. The flexor is made of fibreglass but coloured sexy black. :-) If we are talking about the same thing, I'm surprised that it makes it silent - I thought it was the Flexor that made the Scorpion produce that wonderful farting sound. :-) [seriously - the flexor may help, but the tension line in the trailing edge may be more significant] Andrew -- Work: gaffer@rec.com Phone: +44 793 614 110 Fax: +44 793 614 297 Play: andrew@tug.com Phone: +44 256 464 912 Interested in kite traction? mail kites@tug.com = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
