I have a 6 foot cloth delta from the Nantucket Kiteman purchased in 1981. There are two attachment pionts for the line separated by about 1.5 inches and two points on each side for the cross brace separated by about 1 inch. I seem to remember that depending on wind conditions, one is supposed to use the upper or lower of the hole-sets. Does anyone have any idea which to use when? That kite, a Valkyrie, is a real treasure -- Al Hartig made incredible kites. Use the bridle point at the very tip of the keel for lighter winds, and the one a bit above it for higher winds. As for the spreader, user the lower grommets on the leading edges. The upper holes are used for tuning the kite -- if the kite is leaning to the left, move the spreader up to the higher point on the left side of the kite. My own kite is about 8 years old and has never needed this tuning, but your mileage may vary.
