Get the fuck outta here !! Have you got *any* idea what you are takling about? Kiting sport includes: Competitive figure flying (performing set precision manoevers for judging) Ballet (freestyle flying to music for judging) Power kite jumping (Jumping several 10's of feet powered by kite) Power kite buggy racing (a bit like land yachting - up to 60mph) Power kite sailing (same, but on water - the class C yacht speed record is held by a kite powered yacht) Indian kite fighting (very skillful flying of $0.02 paper kites to cut opponents out of the air) Individual Rokkaku fighting (1m hexagonal kites, winner is last kite flying) Team Rokkaku fighting (big (2m) hexagonal kites, 3 man flying teams, winner is last kite flying) Rokkaku is a popular spectator sport, the field often starts with 30+ kites flying. I fly rigs bigger than hang gliders, can persuade a kite to fly where *I* want it to go, by controlling it with either 1, 2 or 4 lines, can fly either in a gale or indoors. Perhaps you might like to learn more before so rudely exposing your ignorance in future. The only way that I can support this gateway is to have it be automatic. This means that messages like this will occasionally get through. I'm sorry that these things happen, but right now I can't do much about it. To folks in general, a message like this appears periodically in many groups. It is being done by someone trying to excite the readers of a group. Rather than respond or follow-up to a note like this, please just ignore it. Don't give the person the satisfaction of knowing that he/she has upset you. If you want to do more than this, send a note to the sender informing them that such action is unacceptable. If you want to escalate things from there you can send to the system manager, or postmaster at the system where the message originated. -- Marty Sasaki Harvard University Sasaki Kite Fabrications sasaki@noc.harvard.edu Network Operations Division 26 Green Street 617-496-4320 10 Ware Street Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 Cambridge, MA 02138-4002 phone/fax: 617-522-8546 = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
