lookup.zip: A windows 95 program to search the DB0SDX databases on any PC! The DB0SDX qsl + address database (C) by PacketCluster node DB0SDX ==========(information file readme.txt, last updated 99/09/20)================ You can freely distribute the database, however - this is as of today a non commercial project. Please don't charge any money for the distribution! Please distribute the complete version, including this file readme.txt Newest version available at: http://www.grossmann.com/ham/qsl The database maintainer is Lothar, DL1SBF packet radio address: DL1SBF @ DB0SDX.#BW.DEU.EU email: Lothar.Makkens@de.bosch.com Lothar always welcomes comments, corrections and updates. Please also send him a comment if you use the databases. He works on the databses for at least one hour each and every day. Just mail him a short notice! Don't expect an answer, simply see the changes in the database when you download it next time. The database consists of two files, SDX_QSL.FUL and SDX_AD.FUL. To use it with PacketCluster, run MAKEIDX with both (Syntax: MAKEIDX SDX_QSL.FUL 70000) and setup the database definitions in your sysop.dat file. I recommend using 4 different database files: QSL,SDX_QSL,AD,SDX_AD. Use QSL and AD for local updates and SDX_QSL, SDX_AD for the DB0SDX database. Use 6 SET/COM/CHAIN commands to have a database lookup perform in every one of the 4 databases regardless of success in finding an entry or not. Make QSL the first database in the chain, with the others following. The first SET/COM/CHAIN will make the system lookup in SDX_QSL if nothing was found in QSL. The second will make it lookup in SDX_QSL even though something was found in QSL! etc. etc. 1. SET/COM/CHAIN QSL SDX_QSL 2. SET/COM/CHAIN QSL SDX_QSL 3. SET/COM/CHAIN SDX_QSL AD 4. SET/COM/CHAIN SDX_QSL AD 5. SET/COM/CHAIN AD SDX_AD 6. SET/COM/CHAIN AD SDX_AD By doing this the user simply enters a single SH/QSL command and gets all available information! You can check the version date of the databases by using the command SH/QSL RECORDS. 73 - Frank, DL2CC -- frank@grossmann.com
