Those sentiments had to do with the Alliance of Reformed Churches (ARC) and its reason for continuing. After a period of discussion where various thoughts were expressed this consensus was achieved: The purpose for the ARC is to pursue the goal of a United Reformed Church where like-minded Reformed Churches would effect a visible union. This is not intended to be a reduplication of either the North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council (NAPARC) or the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) or the International Conference of Reformed Churches (ICRC) or the Reformed Ecumenical Council (REC). This purpose is referred to your Consistories for further formulation and refinement. This is simply intended to be a summary of the discussion that took place on Wednesday night. Each Consistory is requested to compose and submit an overture to the ARC for corporate consideration at its upcoming November meeting.
